On Friday, June 19, 2020, we celebrated the priestly ordination of Mario Ivan Torres and Patrick Montgomery, as well as the diaconate ordination of eleven men who were ordained on Sunday, June 14, 2020, at 4 PM at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
seminarians are crucial to handing on the faith and to the future of the Church. Seminarians learn the value of humility, a devout prayer life, a life-long love of learning, compassion, a keen awareness of social concerns, and perseverance. The Vocations Office staff is presented below.
We, the people of the diocese support our seminarians with prayer, books and tuition, and support programs at the diocesan and parish levels. Once it has been established that the seminarian applicants are serious about their vocation and have passed a rigorous evaluation process, to include psychological exams, they are totally supported from the first year in seminary through their day of ordination. The Seminarians in our diocese minister to diverse needs of Native American, Hispanic and Anglo cultures. They are bilingual in English/Spanish.
